Allen Tripp

Allen R Tripp graduated from Pocatello High School in 1965. He attended Idaho State University where he graduated with his Bachelor Degree in Music Education. While working on his degree he taught elementary band for the Pocatello School District. After receiving his degree, he taught band at Blackfoot Jr. High School from 1973-1975. Alan returned to school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he received his Master Degree in Music Education in 1977. He then returned to Blackfoot where he took over the instrumental music program at the high school. He continued teaching at Blackfoot High School until his retirement in 2007. His concert band and the Bronco Marching Band won numerous awards throughout the west and performed at several All-State and All-Northwest Conferences.

In addition to his regular teaching duties with the instrumental music program, Allen also taught an AP music class at Blackfoot High School from 1980-1991. He has also performed as a trumpet soloist for civic and church events, taught private lessons, served as the Blackfoot Fine Arts Department Chairman, and helped to produce and organize several all-school musical reviews to raise funds to build an auditorium at Blackfoot High School. At present he is the Manager of the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center.

Allen has been a member of IMEA/MENC since 1973 and was awarded the Idaho Music Educator of the Year award in 1998.
