Jean TerHark earned a BA in Music Education at Buena Vista College and an MA in Music Education at the University of Idaho. She taught choir and band at Post Falls High School (1965-1967), Coeur d'Alene Jr. High Choir (1968-1970), Coeur d'Alene Senior High Choir (1973-1990) and Elementary General Music (1990-2000). She is currently a volunteer, teaching music in two of her grandchildren's classes at Harvest Prep Academy Charter School in Yuma, Arizona. Her husband also retired after 40 years of teaching in Coeur d'Alene schools, where they raised their two sons. Jean served on Idaho State Music Curriculum Committees; as President and Treasurer of District I Music Educators; was State Choral Chair for IMEA and chaired numerous Large Group and Solo & Ensemble contests. She organized the North Idaho Choral Festival for district choirs for several years, served as state president for the American Choral Directors Association, presented numerous clinics and organized the ACDA Fall Retreats.
