Marva Jensen graduated from Snake River High School, in Moreland, Idaho. She then attend Ricks College and Brigham Young University where she received her degree.
In 1955 she married Gaelard Jensen and they made their home in Pingree, Idaho. She taught English at Blackfoot Jr. High for a year in 1957 and then began teaching music at Snake River High School, her alma mater, in 1969. Over the next 26 years she had various roles in teaching music including: choir, general music, elementary music, band and drama. She retired in 1995.
After losing her husband in 1997 she served as the choral/vocal instructor at Brigham Young University-Hawaii for two years.
Marva has been a member of IMEA, the BYU Opera Society, BYU Madrigal Singers, the Idaho Falls Symphony Choral, the International Advent Singers in Vienna Austria, and the Boise State Meistersingers. She as traveled extensively around the world with various choral groups.
Marva and her husband had seven children. They have added to that eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
