IMEA President-Elect Duties

Representation:

1. Attend NW Board meetings and be an active participant. This reflects on our state as a representative.

2. Attend National assembly meetings as President-elect, and President. This broadens the understandings on MENC/IMEA. There are usually NW Board meetings associated with National Assembly as well.

3. Attend all IMEA board meetings.

4. Communicate with IMEA volunteer and other personnel in a timely manner.

5. Have a vison/direction to help lead the board in decision making.

6. Be a wise steward of IMEA funds at all times.

Training:

1. Learn to use technology in such a way to make more effective and efficient use of time for the teachers and students of our state.

2. Work closely with president to learn logistical and planning aspects of the conference. Share files, ideas, whatever else is needed

All-State Conference:

1. Secure All-State chairs and conductors as soon as possible. Start planning as soon as you are elected.

2. Secure sites for All-State rehearsals and gala concert.

3. Work closely with the All-State chairs so conference plans and expectations are understood by all involved.

4. Supervise/oversee the entire student audition/registration/activities for the All-State conference.

5. Secure logistical arrangements for the All-State students. Meals, transportation, shirts/pins, CD’s, lodging, mailings, activity night.

6. Organize chaperones, find and train.

7. Award plaque for President.

8. Program for gala concert. MC the gala concert.

9. Work closely with the IMEA board and site chair to organize and oversee all planning and logistical items for the students involvement in the conference.

10. Communicate, Communicate, Communicate. Most likely contact about IMEA All-State groups. The goal is to keep members informed and portray our organization in a well-respected light.
