David Burger graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and completed a Master Degree in Music Education from the University of Idaho. He began his carrer in Milford, Utah but moved to Idaho Falls in 1981. He spent a total of 31 years teaching instrumental music at Idaho Falls High School, in Idaho Falls. During this time he also served as the Music Coordinator for the Idaho Falls School District 91, the Principal Tuba for the Idaho Falls Symphony, and Director for the Idaho Falls Youth Syphony. He was also a member of the Idaho Brass Quintet.

Dave's bands were always of the highest quality. His marching and jazz bands attended many festivals and competitions locally and as far away as Orlando, Fla., and Moscow, Idaho where they consistently received the highest ratings.

David enjoyed photography, model railroading, canoeing, river running, working on his truck and spending time with his family. He and his wife Jilene, had two daughters.

Dave passed away unexpectedly in the Fall of 2012.
